Overall, a cold, wet and unpleasant month. The cold was notable
not so much for it's extremes but rather for it's persistance
throughout virtually the entire month. No less than 17 days failed
to reach double figures. The only truely spring like day was 14.5C
way back on the first. This in itself only 0.1C above the absolute
maxima for March. There were a number of air frosts, -1.8C being
recorded as late as the 21st.
