A very average month temperature wise, but unlike July this was achieved by
relatively consistent temps throughout the month, rather than alternate hot/cool
spells. The temperature failed to reach 25C, the highest being 24.6C on the
1st, at the end of the hot spell that had started late July. Despite there being
no days above 25C, 15 days exceeded 20C, the same tally as July.
Ave. max, min and average temps were all slightly down on July, though the
min was only marginal.
