An average month as regards temperature , although rather on the dry side. The month started mild and wet but by the 3rd it became much colder and drier. The lowest min of -4.9C was recorded on the 5th and the lowest max of 0.7C on the 7th. This spell lasted until the 12th and there was plenty of sunshine. From the 12th until the 29th it was mild with rain at times, but it was rarely heavy. The highest max of 10.6C (26th) and the highest min of 8.6C (27th) were recorded during this period. It was windy with gales at times from the 26th to the 29th. From the 30th to the 31st it became colder again with night frost. Snow fell on two days, the 3rd and the 30th but amounts were very small.
