Overall, a slightly warmer than average month. However this concealed the very large temperature variations within the month. The month started warm and sunny and by the 3rd had become hot, the highest temperature of the month being recorded on the 5th at 28.6C. A notable minimum of 18.0C was recored on the 3rd. By the second week it was much cooler, the lowest temp of 14.2C recorded on the 8th, just three days later than the max. The next two weeks were cool and fairly wet, min temp falling as low as 5.8C on the 14th and the temp did not rise above 20C until the 23rd. After this temps rose to give another very warm week, though it was not as hot as the first week.
