A very mild and dry month, with an exceptional amount of sunshine. The mildness came from high daytime maxima rather than minima which were dairly low due to the abundant clear skies. The month started unsettled with rain at times until the 8th, the coldest day of the month at 7.0C was recorded on the 7th. From the 8th until the end of the month it remained almost completely dry with many days of continuous sunshine, though it was rather hazy at times. The coolest night were from the 14th till the 23rd when a number of ait and ground frosts were observed, the coldest being -1.3C on the 18th. Maximum temperatures were generlally high from the 16th onwards, with several days being over 15C, the highest was 17.2C on the 23rd.
